Margherita Kids, the childrenswear collection designed by mother and fashion designer, Margherita Maccapani Missoni Amos, is launching in the UK exclusively at John Lewis department stores and on johnlewis.com from Monday, 15th August 2016.

 

Margherita Kids, which debuted in March 2015, will launch in the UK with the Autumn 16 collection, showcasing Margherita’s signature bohemian charm throughout an assortment of whimsical and loveable styles. Designs, including dresses, tops, bottoms and outerwear, in a unique assortment of patterns, fabrications and silhouettes, give a playful nod to the vintage, casual-chic aesthetic synonymous with Margherita’s deep heritage in fashion.  Prices range from £20 - £52 and will be available for newborns and little ones up to age seven. 

 

Margherita Maccapani Missoni Amos comments, “I created Margherita Kids as an outlet that brings together my background in fashion and my experiences: the things I've seen, the people I’ve met, the places I've been. I’ve always had a creative instinct and as a mother of two children, I understand the desire for childrenswear to be beautiful as well as playful and I hope this brand will inspire parents and children to nurture their own creative impulses.”

 

Margherita has designed the collection to be easily mixed and matched to generate eclectic, layered outfits with the unexpected colour palettes pairing unlikely tones and textures in a surprisingly sophisticated way.  Though fashion-forward, Margherita Kids will always offer practical, comfortable and affordably priced styles.  As a mum herself, Margherita knows first-hand how important these qualities are in childrenswear and will continue to make them a top priority.

Stand out items from the 37 piece collection include the sophisticated marle knit cardigan (£40), the retro ombre garter stitch sweater (£45), the cozy quilted coat with oriental print (£38), the sweet daisy skirt with patch pockets & bow (£45) and the delicately embroidered circle dress (£35).

 

The Margherita Kids collection is exclusive to John Lewis in the UK and will be available across John Lewis stores and online at johnlewis.com, shipping to over 35 countries worldwide, this August.

ABOUT MARGHERITA MACCAPANI MISSONI AMOS:

Born in Northern Italy, Margherita Maccapani Missoni Amos, is the eldest daughter of Angela Missoni, Creative Director of the renowned Missoni brand, and the granddaughter of the house’s founders. Having grown up in the idyllic countryside of Sumirago, amidst a family of fashion designers, Amos developed a keen eye and a unique sense of personal style from at a very young age. She also dreamed of becoming a designer like the women in her family.

 

After University, Amos studied drama in New York, then moved to Paris and Rome to pursue a career in acting. During this time, Amos also functioned as Missoni Brand Ambassador. Amos eventually settled back in Sumirago and began consulting on important projects, such as the Missoni for Target collaboration, and eventually joined the Missoni creative team as the Designer of Accessories, Swim, and Missoni Girls. 

 

Amos then met her husband, Eugenio, a race car driver, and shortly thereafter started a family of her own. Following the birth of her two sons, the fashion darling brought her innate sense of style, entrepreneurial spirit and personal experience as a mum to her distinguished kidswear collection, Margherita Kids, which launched in March 2015.
